Double D’s Cheesecake was founded in 1998 by two sisters, Darlene and Dale, hence the name, “Double D’s.” In October of 2018, the “Song Family” took over the business. Since then, the owners Inho (aka Larry) (father) and Angela (daughter) have been working tirelessly to maintain the same quality and taste of Double D’s Cheesecakes.

Double D’s Cheesecake has been supplying Winnipeg with 35+ flavours of delicious, home-style NO-BAKE CHEESECAKE for over 20 years. What sets Double D’s Cheesecake apart from most others is that our cheesecakes are not a baked cheesecake, but a chilled recipe, which results in a very light and creamy texture rather than heavy and pasty as baked cheesecakes can be. Our customers tell us that they always have room for our cheesecake even after a big meal. Our cheesecakes tend to compliment a meal because they are satisfying, not filling. It is the “Grand Finale” to a complete dining experience.
What are No-Bake Cheesecakes?
“No-bake cheesecakes” are literally cheesecakes that are not baked. No-bake cheesecake is also called Philadelphia-style cheesecake. We use a chilled recipe. The only part of our cheesecake that is baked is the crust. The cheesecakes are made daily at our shop on Meadowood Drive in St. Vital, Winnipeg. We offer 35+ flavours of 9” no-bake cheesecakes that are round, frozen, and pre-cut into 14 slices. We also offer individual-sized 3” mini cheesecakes that are round and frozen. Moreover, we offer bite-sized cheesecake petit fours, cheesecake in a cone, cinnamon buns, muffins, cookies, and coffee.
How To Keep or Serve No-Bake Cheesecakes?
We recommend keeping the cheesecake frozen until serving. Once plated, the cheesecakes are ready in about 5 minutes. Whatever you don’t use, put them back in the freezer for a late night snack! When well kept, the cakes will keep for weeks, or even months in a chest freezer. Our cheesecakes are NOT ice cream cheesecake; meaning, they won’t melt like ice cream cakes do. Instead, they will get soft and smooth once thawed. Although we recommend waiting 5 minutes until serving, our cheesecakes taste just as good when they’re frozen! It’s really a matter of whether you like hard or soft texture.
With over 35 flavours of cheesecakes on the menu, there is always something new to try, including many seasonal favourites such as Creamy Pumpkin for Thanksgiving or Halloween, Eggnog and Candy Cane for Christmas, and White Chocolate Cherry Brandy for Valentine’s Day. Everything is Homemade
Everything at Double D’s is made from scratch, from the cheesecake to the caramel cinnamon buns, muffins, cookies, etc. The coffee is locally roasted. Even the crust is homemade – we buy the crumbs dry and add our own spices and seasoning before adding vegetable oil. This method adds to the homestyle goodness that Double D’s Cheesecake is known for.
